ChatGPT Functionalities: What Can't It Do?

Everyone in the marketing world has probably heard about ChatGPT recently.


It seems to be the next biggest thing for AI since Sophie the robot became a thing.


It's advanced language model allows for conversations I've never seen before.


I've been reading a lot about ChatGPT and what people have used it for, through articles or LinkedIn.


Here is the best of what I found:


Marketing Strategies


Marketers have been quick to jump on the power that AI has when it comes to material generation whether that be outright strategies or blog titles.

Therapy/Journaling


I found this fascinating. People have been using AI as a conversational journal to help them with their thoughts.


There is something intimidating about having a blank page staring at you before you start. But with AI, you can ask a question, have the AI respond as Aristotle or something and then you can now start to dive into your own thoughts.



Audience Profiling/Thoughts


I saw an interesting post on LinkedIn where someone used ChatGPT to answer questions based on the readership of well known UK papers. They asked the same questions and reported the answers and well, it's quite interesting how AI can interpret the language used within each audience:




Excel Formulas


I'm far from an excel guru, but the functionality to write out formulas is astonishing. No longer would I need to memorise formulas to understand how they work.


I can simply ask ChatGPT to write out what I want to happen and voila, I'm an excel genius:




Content Marketing


One of the hardest things when it comes to content is actually producing the stuff. Thinking of the idea, planning out when it will be published and ensuring each piece of content is created on time.

ChatGPT


It is a very powerful tool that isn't a like-for-like replacement of human input, but it certainly allows for a great starting point when it comes to marketing activities.


We've used it at work, and it has been really powerful for content generation ideas.


I think understanding the relationship that marketers could have with AI is an extreme benefit to gaining an advantage in content production and turnaround of creating ideas.
