Marketing Through People

Having a strong existing customer base is similar to investing.

You need to make them work for you, much like you'd make your money work for you through investing (thanks @Robert Kiyosaki for that one).

Your existing customer base is your community. A buzzword that is gaining more traction in the marketing world, but an important word nonetheless.

But is the value of marketing through people (your customers) truly recognised?

According to Kevin Indig's well presented article, Alphabet's Q3 earnings were down, Meta's net profit's down, Amazon's stock price down.

These global, mega companies are starting to fall at the hurdle of 'people'.

Users want a face that they can relate to, a voice they can listen to, wisdom they can learn from.

They want to feel understood.

The key part of unlocking this 'marketing through people' angle is that you need to ensure that you are delivering content, products and services that truly resonate with users.

Without that, you look fake and totally out of touch.

Brands need to start utilising their existing customers more to not only capture repeat business, but to let their community market for them, or in other words, make their money work for them.

In the long term, it will save time, money and energy. If you've got a solid base of repeat customers, let them do the hard work for you.
