I logged onto my ACX and Etsy for the first time this week to see if there had been any organic sales. There had not.
With my audible book, this is expected, this tends to tick along at a nice steady pace and I average about 2 sales a week, maybe 1. This happens in the background without me putting any effort into marketing the product.
I then checked my new Etsy listing I put up over the weekend to see if there had been any traction. I took my audio book script, broke it down into simple bullet points and then put it up for sale at a much cheaper price than my script.
As of writing this hasn't had any views yet which got me thinking about the product SEO (ironically).
I have altered the product title and the description to try and be more SEO and user friendly. As long as this is seen by users, I'm confident that it will gain some sales!
If this one product can take off then I know that I will have at least a bit more of a consistent side income coming in with little to no work to actively manage it!
By using Etsy, it already gives me a marketplace to share my work, it just has to resonate with users thats all!
Whether that means I sell my personal brand a bit more through the listings, or I think of other products to put up, perhaps like an SEO checklist (I have already made one coincdentally).
New Product Thought
As I was mid writing this post - I realised that I already had created an SEO checklist way back for my apprentice team I had at at an old job.
I just spent the last hour or so formatting this to ensure it looked Etsy ready and is now live! I now have 3 products running on Etsy so hoping that they can all help each other grow!
If they sell well, then it will certainly be a reliable place for income. I'm hoping that my pricing is attractive enough that more people buy it allowing for the revenue to come in.
I think it is important that if you can digitise an asset that you use on a recurring basis and see if you can make it into a template, make it look nice and then end up selling it, someone out there could want what you need!
It only costs 20p per listing on Etsy here in the UK which is nothing (even if it doesn't sell well) so it's certainly worth buying the ticket to see if you win the lottery!
